Policy

                                                                   Guidelines

• Payments: All payments are final and non-refundable after registration.
   
• Scheduling: Lessons must be scheduled at the time of registration.
   
• Cancellations: In the case of illness or temporary scheduling changes, parents must call or email the instructor at least 24 hours in advance.
   
• Emergencies: Emergencies must be communicated promptly to reschedule. Failure to notify will be considered a No Show and lessons will not be rescheduled.
   
• Weather Cancellations: Lessons will be canceled if there is lightning within 10 miles of the pool. These lessons will be rescheduled at the time of cancellation.
   
• Illness: If your child has diarrhea, fever, pink eye, or any contagious illness, please call your instructor immediately to reschedule.
   
• COVID-19: If a student or family member tests positive for COVID-19, lessons must be canceled for one week or until negative test results are received for everyone affected.
   
• Pool Maintenance Issues: Lessons will be canceled if there is fecal matter or dead animals in the pool, as the pool must close for maintenance (45 minutes to 2 hours depending on the severity).
   
• Parent Guidelines:
   
  • Parents may remain on deck during lessons but are not permitted in the pool.
     
  • We kindly ask that parents allow the instructor full control of the lesson, even if the child becomes upset — this is a normal part of the learning process.
     
  • If a parent or family member removes a child from the pool during a lesson due to normal behavior, the lesson will be forfeited without the option to reschedule.
     
  • Parents are responsible for supervising their children at all times, even if a lifeguard is present.
     
• Swim Diapers: Babies and toddlers still in diapers must wear swim diapers while in the pool.
   
• Skill Evaluations:
   
  • All students, even those with previous swim experience, must complete a skill evaluation before their first lesson.
     
  • Evaluations ensure we can create a personalized learning plan for each swimmer, including adults.
     
  • Progress evaluations are conducted at the end of every session.
     
• Exceptions: Any exceptions to these policies will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

                                                      Release of Liability

In consideration for Mermaid Mom Private Swim, LLC providing swim instruction to my child(ren), I hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless Mermaid Mom Private Swim, LLC, along with its employees, officers, agents, directors, and volunteers (collectively referred to as "Releases"), from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, personal injury, illness, or death that may be sustained by my child(ren), or to any property belonging to my child(ren), while participating in lessons or activities at Mermaid Mom Private Swim, LLC.

I acknowledge that I am fully aware of the risks associated with swim lessons and activities around a pool, including but not limited to the risk of physical injury, illness, or disability. I voluntarily allow my child(ren) to participate, understanding and assuming full responsibility for any potential risks, including loss, property damage, or personal injury.

By signing below, I confirm that I have read, understood, and agreed to adhere to all policies and procedures of Mermaid Mom Private Swim, LLC. I understand that registrations will not be processed without a signed waiver.
